Description

Scapula fractures have traditionally been thought of as rare injuries that for the most part heal fine with benign neglect. Current research has shown that a significant percentage of non-operatively treated patients with significantly displaced scapula fractures may have reduced strength, motion, and pain. Other studies have shown operative treatment to restore strength and motion post-operatively. These findings have sparked an interest for the operative treatment of scapula fractures and validated the necessity to provide the education that will make treatment of these injuries available to patients. This course will increase attendees' understanding of scapula fractures and their treatment, with a purpose to teach the surgical skills necessary to prevent morbidity from these injuries. View agenda.
